While Real Madrid has four French in its workforce, one of them could pack his bags next summer.

The Spanish club, second in La Liga, and qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League (against Chelsea), is already thinking about its next summer transfer window. The training, led by Carlo Ancelotti, must in particular manage the extensions of several elements of the workforce, including Toni Kroos, Luka Modrid and the Frenchman Karim Benzema.
According to the revelations of Sport, Real Madrid also wants to recruit, especially in defense, and is thinking of a long-time target of FC Barcelona, Juan Foyth. The 25-year-old Argentinian, who can play right-back or central defender, even defensive midfielder, has played 21 games with Villarreal this season (for 1 goal and 2 assists). The former Tottenham and Estudiantes defender is under contract until 2026, with an estimated market value of 25 million euros, according to Transfermarktand a release clause of 55 million euros.
Real’s incumbent right-back, Dani Carvajal (31), worried about his performances this season, and could be on the sidelines next year.
Mendy and Carvajal towards the exit
According to journalist Jorge Picon, the side on the other side of the defense, Ferland Mendy, also worries the management of Real Madrid. Due to recurring injuries, and reduced playing time this season (25 appearances), the former Lyonnais should even be pushed out in the summer of 2023. A time quoted at PSG, the 27-year-old Frenchman should have solicitations from many clubs if the rumor of a departure is confirmed.
To replace him, Real Madrid will focus on Fran Garcia. The 23-year-old Spaniard, trained at Real, is currently playing at Rayo Vallecano (2 assists in 28 games). But the defender will return to Madrid this summer, against 5 million euros (his buyout clause), as Carlo Ancelotti announced in February to the press.
