Ligue 1 has never attracted so many people! In an official statement published on Tuesday, the Professional Football League announced a historic attendance record at mid-season. 4.5 million spectators have been present in L1 stadiums since the start of the season. An increase of 5%, or 234,000 more spectators compared to mid-season 2019-2020, before Covid.

The average attendance is also unprecedented with a figure of 23,773 spectators per match. The match between Olympique de Marseille and AC Ajaccio at the Orange Vélodrome was the biggest crowd with 63,416 spectators. With suspense on all levels before this second part of the season, the crowds in the Ligue 1 enclosures should not drop, quite the contrary.
