“At the end of my contract, Paris wanted to keep me. But I refused. And I’m very happy to be here today,” Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting said at the beginning of the week during his press conference on his transfer to Bayern Munich.

The Cameroonian international perfectly started his adventure under his new colors, with a double scored against Duren Merzenich (3-0) on Thursday in the German Cup.

Everything went very fast for Choupo-Moting

“I’m happy to be back in Germany, I’m happy with my two goals. It was a successful start for me. I immediately thought of Germany after my adventure in Paris. My wife wanted to come back, and I wanted to come back too.

The first contact was of course a little bit before the signing, but in the end, everything happened relatively quickly. Now I’m here and I’m very happy,” the former Parisian told Kicker.

As a reminder, Choupo-Moting played in Nuremberg, Hamburg, Mainz and Schalke during his career, before attempting the English adventure in Stoke City and then joining the PSG in 2018.

The 31-year-old Hamburg-born striker obviously does not regret his choice to return to Germany and hopes to convince his coach to give him some playing time. It’s off to a good start after his very successful debut.
