Dimitri Payet reveals his intentions for the future
If he comes out of a season on the slippery slope under the orders of Igor Tudor at OM (3rd tenure in Ligue 1 in 2023), Dimitri Payet does not intend to be fatalistic. While he celebrated his 36th birthday in February, the Reunion attacking midfielder still believes he has energy to spare, and for several more years. As a reminder, his contract will expire in June 2024.
“If this season made me want to end my career? No. (Farm.) I’ve always said I’ll stop when the body won’t follow. And it’s not yet, I just took a year off, I’m in great shape, jokes the French international in an interview with France Soccer. I will not be lent (next season), I will be there for those who may have doubted it. And still a long time, I hope.”
