Hervé Renard wants to be inspired by Didier Deschamps
Inducted at the head of Les Bleues on Thursday, following the dismissal of Corinne Deacon at the beginning of March, Hervé Renard unveiled his first list yesterday, as part of the preparation matches for the Women’s World Cup to be held this summer, in Australia and New Zealand (July 20 – August 20). In an interview with the newspaper The Team this Saturday, the former coach of Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire and more recently Saudi Arabia, returned to his ambitions at the head of Les Bleues and his desire to be inspired by Didier Deschamps.
“We have already exchanged (with Didier Deschamps). He’s been in this house for twelve years. He knows the workings by heart, observes the 54-year-old technician, who had evolved with the U16s of the France team with Deschamps at the time. Didier (Deschamps) is a source of inspiration for all French coaches. He is the king of winning. Wherever he goes, he wins, it’s no coincidence. He is a model for us. Winning trophies as a player and then a coach is magic. I am in awe of him.”
