Liverpool: Salah, the last brilliance before a transfer?

Author of a brilliant new season with Liverpool, Mohamed Salah has still not extended his current contract. The Reds are preparing for a possible departure during the summer transfer window.

Under contract until June 2023, the Egyptian striker continues to play with the nerves of his leaders. Despite several reminders in recent months, Salah systematically rejects the English club’s contract extension proposals. The reason is quite simple, the former AS Roma player demands a salary beyond the reach of the Reds’ finances and does not seem determined to lower his demands. If the situation does not change in the coming weeks, Liverpool will have to make a difficult decision. Two options would then be possible: either the Egyptian striker honors his last year of contract with the risk of a free start in 2023, or Liverpool accepts a transfer this summer to recover transfer compensation.

Candidate for the next Ballon d’Or along with Karim Benzema, Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappé and Sadio Sané, Salah no longer hesitates to show his optimism. “If you compare me to any player in my position, not just in my team but in the whole world, you will find that I am the best”, he dropped in an interview with beIN SPORTS. A possible quadruple with the English club would necessarily be a strong argument when awarding this individual award.

As a reminder, PSG is not insensitive to the many qualities of Mohamed Salah, who has been shining in the colors of Liverpool since 2017. According to information from the Telegram, the Parisian club would be one of the player’s priorities in the event of departure this summer. Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are also attractive destinations, but the Catalan club has not yet solved its financial problems. For its part, the merengue club is focusing on the potential arrival of Kylian Mbappé, who will be out of contract next June in the French capital.
