Four months after his arrival at Olympique de Marseille, Ruslan Malinovskyi has agreed to take stock of his second half of the season in Ligue 1.

Arrived in January from Atalanta Bergamo a few months from the end of his contract, the Ukrainian international first displayed an attractive face during his first appearances under the colors of OM before experiencing a more difficult. In an interview with theAFPthe attacking midfielder admitted that he had not yet found his best level. “I can do better, that’s obvious. But I only did four months. Next season, with full preparation and more confidence, I think I will do better. (…) I can do more offensively, much more”, recognized Malinovskyi before making a small secret. “Maybe I put too much pressure on myself. Marseille is a great club, it is not easy to win immediately”he continued.
Tudor’s requirements
His statistics are clearly not up to management’s expectations, but the former Atalanta and Genk player is asking the supporters for a little patience. “The tifosi want goals, assists. But there is the coach, who asks you something else, and it starts with the defense”continued the Ukrainian midfielder who also hopes to be selected for his country’s next matches against Macedonia (June 16) and Malta (June 19) as part of the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
His goal against PSG
One thing is certain, Malinovskyi will long remember his goal scored against PSG last February in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France (2-1). “It’s a beautiful goal, important, very emotional. I knew that OM had not won against Paris for a long time”, he recalled. OM will host Brest this Saturday at the Stade Vélodrome (9 p.m.) as part of the 37e Ligue 1 day.
