Messi and PSG, the meeting is fixed!
Lionel Messi and his PSG management have agreed to meet soon to discuss a contract extension.
Lionel Messi will be out of contract with PSG next summer. Rumors have suggested that La Pulga have no intention of returning to the French champions. But they are unfounded. The new world champion still favors a new lease with his current team over any other option.
Messi hasn’t said no to Paris yet
Since the end of the World Cup, the seven-time Ballon d’Or has postponed meetings with his management to discuss this new contract. But he does not intend to do so indefinitely. According to the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romanotransfer expert, a meeting is scheduled with the Ile-de-France board in two to three weeks to try to make progress in the talks.
As a reminder, Messi has a contract with Paris which runs until this summer. There is an option for an additional year if both parties mutually agree to continue together. The idea of the Parisian leaders, however, is to retain their star with a new contract of at least two years.
Messi is having a very attractive 2022/2023 season with PSG. Much more satisfying than the first. In all competitions, he has 14 goals and 14 assists signed in 23 matches played. He is the team’s third most decisive player behind Neymar and Kylian Mbappé. Saturday against Toulouse, he will also be the only one of the three to appear on the front line of the attack.
