Relief at PSG, a midfielder agrees to leave

After two months of transfer window, PSG is finally preparing to finalize the departure of one of its many undesirables.

PSG has completed several arrivals since the start of the transfer window, but in the direction of departures there has been only one movement. That of Angel Di Maria, who was at the end of the contract. Half a dozen players have been placed on the transfer list and none of them have moved yet. Things could pick up speed in the coming days, however, after a candidate for departure has come forward.

PSG claims 15M€

The candidate in question is Leandro Paredes. The Argentinian midfielder was in discussions with Juventus and he has just given his approval to the Italian club. The personal terms have been concluded and all that remains is to agree with the Ile-de-France management. This would require at least 15M € to separate from its player. Short of options in the midfield after Paul Pogba’s injury, the Old Lady should normally make the necessary effort to complete the operation.

Aged 28, Paredes has been playing at PSG since the 2019/2020 season. He had been recruited for an amount of €40m (more than €7m in bonuses). He has a total of 114 appearances with the team from the French capital, including 22 last season. Even if they had nationality as a common point, Mauricio Pochettino did not rely too much on him. He only lined it up 15 times in 2021/2022.
