Returning this summer in the form of a loan to Inter Milan after a stealthy stint at Chelsea, Romelu Lukaku is gradually getting back in the saddle. The Belgian striker, author of 13 goals and 6 assists in 34 games this season, is even preparing to play in the first Champions League final of his career. In an interview given to Prime Video Italia, the 30-year-old opened up about his last difficult season spent in the shadows at Chelsea. For him, making his return to the Lombard club seemed obvious.
“I was no longer happy there (in England editor’s note). I wanted something new, I was missing something and so I leftsaid the Belgian international, who still belongs to Chelsea. My mind was elsewhere. I felt that I could not evolve myself. I had given everything and that’s why I left the Premier League and England: because I was no longer happy. Then I said to myself: ‘where do I go now? In Italy ! My family is doing well here.»
