Despite one of the best records in its history (73 points after 36 days), OM will not be among the top two in the French championship this season. To go higher, Igor Tudor’s men should undoubtedly have better managed direct confrontations with the Top 5 (two defeats against Lens and Paris), but also home matches, in which the Olympians lost no less than 20 points during the year.
If OM are only fifth in terms of home result, it is certainly not because of their fans, who have played their role as the twelfth man throughout the season. Indeed, the Vélodrome stadium was full during all the home matches. A fervor that Igor Tudor wanted to greet at a press conference on Thursday.

A third place which will inevitably complicate the task of the Olympian leaders, as confided by the Croatian technician, who will most certainly be on the bench for OM next season: “It is certain that if we finish 3rd, that will bring constraints, because we know that certain players recruited come knowing that the club is playing in the Champions League. But we will not be the only club in this situation.“
