When I was little, I promised myself that I would have a job in line with football. Very quickly, I realized that my feet would not be enough to take me where I wanted so journalism became obvious.

After finishing 2nd in their group, Senegal dreamed of a feat against England. The hopes of the Teranga Lions were quickly extinguished by the Three Lions. After Jordan Henderson’s opener, Harry Kane doubled the lead in stride. Bukayo Saka will amplify the score in the second half in order to put Senegal at a distance, which is therefore coming out of this World Cup. Here are Aliou Cissé’s player ratings.

Edward Mendy (4): Vigilant at the start of the game, the goalkeeper chelsea couldn’t do much about the three England goals. A frustrating performance for Edward Mendy who remained on two very good games.

Youssouf Sabaly (4): Sabaly put good will, as always, but as soon as Phil Foden came into his game, he was in trouble. The player of Manchester City got the better of him on the third goal.

Kalidou Koulibaly (4): Strong at the start of the game, Kalidou Koulibaly showed to Harry Kane that he wouldn’t let it go. But the first goal of theEngland hurt him. Less precise in his raises, the defender of chelsea even seemed annoyed in the second half, evidenced by his yellow card.

Abdou Diallo (3.5): Aligned in the axis after having started the World on the left, Abdou Diallo was almost punished for taking a big risk at the start of the match. Then the player on loan from the PSG has not really raised his level, he who is perhaps still physically embarrassed.

Ismail Jacobs (3): He lived through a real ordeal in the face of Bukayo Saka. Although he tried to bring offensively, the player of theAS Monaco was punished for his defensive largesse. Guilty on England’s third goal, Jakobs paid for his lax marking. Replaced by Fode Ballo-Toure at the 84th.

Nampalys-Mendy (4): In the absence ofIdrissa Gueye, he had the role of metronome in the middle. But Nampalys-Mendy suffered a lot. The former Nice didn’t let go but he was overwhelmed by the new XXL performance of Jude Bellingham.

Pathe Ciss (3): Also aligned in the midfield, his first and only half will have been very complicated. Never in the right tempo, he was replaced at the break by Pope Gueye (4) which brought its impact but without ever succeeding in gaining the upper hand over the English environment.

Ismaila Sarr (5): The former player of the Rennais Stadium was the most dangerous Senegalese. On his left side, he caused problems to Kyle Walker but he failed to show himself decisive. Surely a little lonely in the absence of Sadio Mane

Krepin Diatta (3): The other player of theAS Monaco didn’t show much. Apart from a center for Boulaye Dia at the start of the game, Diatta remained hidden on its side, well contained by a Luke Shaw vigilant. Replaced by Pope Matar Sarr (4.5) at halftime who tried to bring offensively despite being behind on the scoreboard.

Iliman Ndiaye (4.5): Very restless at the start of the match, Ndiaye fished in the last move. Despite everything, he is one of the few to have made the defense of theEngland. Substituted at half-time by Bamba Dieng (4) which has hardly been served.

Boulaye Dia (4.5): Day will have had the biggest chance of Senegal. At 0-0, the former player of Reims was close to opening the scoring but Jordan Pickford watched over the grain. Behind, he got a little lost on the ground. Replaced in the 72nd minute by Famara Diedhiou.
